The exterior plaster of the bale consisted of prepping the walls with a sprayed on clay slip coat. The joints around the bales were "chinked" or filled in with a thick and sticky clay/straw mixture.
The first coat of plaster was an earth coat followed by two coats of lime. The plaster was finished with a pigmented lime wash. |
